With an illustrious career spanning over 13 years as a reading interventionist for grades K-5, Nikita’s journey is one interwoven with dedication and love for her community. A mother to four sons and holder of a BS in Psychology from Virginia State University, along with a master’s in Curriculum & Instruction from Grand Canyon University, her educational background sets a foundation of commitment, hard work, and an undying passion for contributing positively to the world around her.
Beyond the classroom, Nikita channels her creativity and love for her community into her blossoming small business—a venture that allows her to connect with others in a new, heartwarming way. Known for her delectable homemade sweets, she has quickly become a local favorite, blending her expertise in education with her talent for baking, creating treats that are as nurturing as they are delicious. Her desserts reflect the same care and attention she brings to teaching, with each one crafted to bring joy and connection to those who enjoy them.
However, Nikita’s story took a delightful turn when she launched Sweets By Keet in May 2021. This venture was not a sudden whim but a dream nurtured since the tender age of six when a simple EZ baked oven gift from her mother sparked a lifelong love for baking. Her journey into the world of sumptuous pastries and cakes took a significant leap forward when her husband gifted her the first stand mixer in Christmas of 2019, unlocking new possibilities in baking. This pivotal moment led to the conception of Sweets By Keet, initially starting its operations with the support of her family, friends, and the local community. Embracing change and adapting to the times, Nikita has since transitioned from a storefront to a home-based bakery, ensuring her delicious creations continue to reach those who appreciate them the most, all while upholding the highest standards of customer service.
