Richmond, VA — The second annual Avery Walls Music Festival is set to transform The Park RVA into a lively celebration of music, community, and philanthropy on April 26, 2025. Running from noon to midnight, this day-long festival promises to deliver exceptional entertainment while supporting a meaningful cause.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Heart Association of Virginia, honoring the memory and legacy of Avery Walls, a beloved young man whose spirit continues to inspire the Richmond community.
Festival organizers have worked tirelessly to create an event that reflects Avery’s love for music and community connection. “This festival represents everything Avery stood for—bringing people together through music and helping others,” said festival coordinator Jamie Richards. The 12-hour celebration will feature continuous live performances across multiple stages, creating an immersive experience for attendees while raising vital funds for heart disease research and prevention programs throughout Virginia.
Music enthusiasts will be treated to performances by nine of Richmond’s most renowned bands, spanning genres from rock and indie to folk and alternative. The carefully curated lineup includes local favorites like The Folding Chairs, Mint Condition, and The Sidewalk Surfers, with each band donating their time and talent to support the cause. Between sets, the School of Rock Short Pump will showcase the impressive abilities of young musicians from their performance program, highlighting the next generation of musical talent.
The festival’s main stage will feature hourly performances from noon until midnight, with professional sound and lighting creating a concert-worthy experience for attendees. “We’ve designed the schedule to offer something for every musical taste,” explained stage manager Tony Mercer.
“From acoustic sets perfect for afternoon lounging to high-energy performances that will have everyone dancing as the evening progresses, the musical journey throughout the day reflects the diverse talents of Richmond’s music scene.”
Beyond the music, the Avery Walls Music Festival offers a wealth of entertainment options that make it truly family-friendly. The Park RVA’s unique venue features include indoor miniature golf courses with creative themes and challenging holes suitable for all skill levels. Guests can also enjoy duckpin bowling—a regional favorite sport that offers a fun twist on traditional bowling with smaller balls and pins, making it accessible for even the youngest festival attendees.
For those seeking additional entertainment, the festival’s arcade area will feature both classic and contemporary games, while a special VIP karaoke lounge offers brave performers the chance to showcase their vocal talents between professional sets. Food trucks and local vendors will create a showcase of Richmond’s diverse food scene, with options ranging from gourmet street food to classic festival fare.
Craft beverages, including selections from local breweries and non-alcoholic options, will be available throughout the venue, with a portion of all food and beverage sales contributing to the charitable proceeds.
